WWII British Sailor Uses Signal Lights on Deck of HMS BATTLER.
SFA-Flight At Dusk.
Using signal lights, a British officer skillfully brings in a Swordfish plane to the flight deck of the H.M.S. Battler escort carrier built in the U.S. and serving in the Royal Navy. A soda fountain and a cafeteria dining hall for 70 officers and 450 men are signs of the Battler’s american birth. She was built and christened at Pascagoula on the Gulf of Mexico, joined there by her British complement.
