1937-D 5C Three-Legged MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 1937-D Three-Legged Buffalo has been crudely counterfeited for decades. Its popularity became widespread in the late 1930s, soon after its release and publication in Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine. But such counterfeits are an exercise in futility, and most of them are little more than crude attempts to efface the fourth leg. Any numismatist worth his/her salt would spot such shams in a moment…
